Tanja Žakelj didn’t had a good week in Leogang, after not being at 100 % for the whole week she finished the Sunday XCO race in 40th place.
Track in Leogang should suit Tanja way better than those in Albstadt and Nove Mesto na Morave, she also has fond memories on the World Champs that took place on this location last fall (she was 9th).
But the race didn’t go as planned, Tanja explains: “I wasn’t at my best for days, but you always hope for a better day on the race day. That didn’t happen, I was losing positions from the start, I only overtook couple of girls. I persisted to the end and took P40, which is similar like on the first two rounds. But I’m disappointed today, I wanted more, especially on this track. It’s time to kick in higher gear, but that didn’t happen today.”
