Final race of the iXS European Downhill Cup took place in Verbier, Switzerland. We had Stan there racing in the Pro U17 category, with the mission to do have fun on the race and take home a good result that would keep him in the high overall position. He did both.
First race run on a good track that finished in the village center was far from perfect, Stan set 20th time of the qualifications. There was of course much room for improvement against the mostly older riders and he did much better in the finals – he was 8th! 46 points that he got for the result was enough to defend 5th place in the category overall standings.
Stan Nisbet after the race: “It was really good! Track was amazing and had a great time. Race run wasn’t the best with lots of little mistakes down the track but happy with the result regardless and to keep 5th in the overall standings.”
Stan did 3 iXS EDC races in the season – he was 2nd on Lošinj, 11th in Semmering and now 8th in Verbier. He also did iXS Downhill Cup race in Winterber that he won. All in all, a very good season on the European soil! Congrats Stan!
