Season finale and another top-10 for Oli Clark! Oli did very good in the qualies and even better in the finals, finishing in 9th!
Legendary venue with one of the best downhill tracks in the World Cup! Mont-Sainte-Anne is always a challenge to race, and always a pleasure to visit. This is one of Aimi’s favorite tracks and first timer for Oli, so we of course took this race with lots of excitement.
The excitement only grew after the track walk, the builders did an amazing job and prepared the perfect playground for the last big race of the season. Oli found the right speed right away, Aimi was struggling with some section, but by the end of the training she had everything dialed. Unfortunately for her that didn’t transfer to her qualifications run where she was first put out of pace due to the rider crash in front of her, and then loosing too much time on some of the sections. Oli had no problems with getting to the main race, finishing the qualies in 11th. In the finals he did even better, got a spot on a hot seat for a while and eventually finishing in 9th. Great result for the end of the season and a good foundation to build upon.
“The last race of the season went well for me. Was a tough week on such a physical track but ended up 11th in qualies which put me thru to finals. A bit of overnight rain made for some tricky conditions, but had a good practice in the morning and put down a solid race run ending up 9th! Overall a great weekend!
This season has been really good learning for me, dealing with the ups and downs. I am super happy to make it to the end healthy and with some good experience under my belt. It has been such a cool experience travelling with the team and having them back me through out. I’m looking forward to building on my season and get some good training in over the off season for next year.
